Hi guys,

2 weeks after the start of EOYDF, it is time to say good bye. I want to thank all the participating teams who without you the event will never be possible. Thank you once again.

Congratulation to all the winner and wish them all the best for their Higher Chinese O Level.

Hi guys,

It has come to an end to the horrible exams! Hope you guys are doing well!
The festival will start tomorrow at 2pm. Please report to Singapore Inhouse League Room 15 minute before start of your game.

It is reminded to use the Garena Id that is submitted in the Registration form.
In the Prelim Round, every win gives you 3 points, every lose gives you 1 point and absence gives you 0 points. The top 2 teams from each group promote to the quarter final that will take place next Saturday.

Integrity Issue

Hi guys,

IMPORTANT: Download Festival Guideline here

In order to make this event a fair and meaningful one, I will be checking the teams (especially Sec 1 and Sec 2s whom I do not know personally) for non-HCI member in the next few days. Method of checking will be kept confidential.

Any team found with non-HCI member will result in immediate disqualification.

I emphasize again that all team member ,including reserves, must come from Hwa Chong Institution High School Section

Map Use and Garena Username

The competition map use will be DotA 6.68C.

Please make sure you have a working Garena account.

The referee will follow the usernames submitted in the registration forms strictly.
Please do take care of your Garena account safely.

PS: Team B2SC has submitted an incomplete registration form. If the team leader does not submit a full complete registration form by 17th Oct, we reserve our rights to disqualify the team and let the reserve team to replace them.

Exams are coming in less than 1 week time. Exam revisions are definitely our top priority.

Therefore, we, the organizing team, will not entertain any request for change of timing, players or any other administrative issue regarding EOYDF2010 until 20 Oct 2010.

We will still answer any question posted on the forum.

Up To 24 Teams

Hi guys,

After much consideration, we decided to accept up to 24 teams. The current number of teams is 22. There is only 2 more slots left.

You can now check whether your team is in participating or reserve list.

The previous schedule draft is outdated. We are going to update it very soon.
The festival will probably last for 2 weeks, starting from 22 Oct 2010

More Teams Signing Up

Hi guys,

I received 2 more registration forms in the last few days. There are some queries about the 17th team.

I want to clarify that the 2 teams that signed up after registration closed are on the reserve list currently. They are only able to participate if any existing team withdraws.

We are trying very hard to accept more teams into the festival.

If there are 2 more teams signing up which gives a total of 20 teams, all the 4 teams signed up after the registration closed will get accepted into the festival.

So please help us spread the word and ask your friend to join the festival

Hi guys,

I am glad to announce that we have received 16 registration forms.

Hence, registration is closed.

If you still want to participant in the festival, you may want to contact teams which do not have reserve player. You can also apply to be a referee if you are kin to.

We are currently drafting out the schedule. It will be emailed to your team leader very soon(within a week). If you do have questions or problems about the schedule, feel free to email me.

Draft schedule will also be online on this portal under schedule tab so do check out our website often.

In the meanwhile, you can check out Rules and Structure and Participating Teams.

Good luck to our Chinese Common Test tomorrow.

Update (13 Sept 2010):
If I receive any registration form from today onwards, I will put the team into the reserve list.
If any existing team choose to withdraw from the festival before it starts, the top team from the reserve list will substitute.
If we get 4 more teams on the reserve list, we may be able to accept them together into the festival. I give the registration form download link.

You can download DotA Allstar 6.68 and view the DotA 6.68 changelogs.

1. Concept of Reliable vs Unreliable Gold.

"Reliable Gold" - Any bounty you get from hero kills or from the extra "aoe kill gold" bonus (feature from few patches ago) is added to your Reliable Gold pool.

"Unreliable Gold" - It is everything else (creep kills, neutrals, etc).

Dying can only take away gold from your Unreliable Gold pool and not from your Reliable Gold. Buying items uses up your Unreliable Gold first before using your Reliable Gold.

Thank you for supporting EOY DotA Festival 2010!

Until today, I had 7 teams registered.

I noticed that most of the teams are from sec 4.

I felt that our juniors know little about this event because we do not have any method to reach out to them.

They may be disappointed to miss this event. Hence, I want to urge all the sec 4s to tell your juniors, cca members, younger brothers(in HCI) or anyone you know that plays dota in lower sec about this event. This event should not be a sec-4-dominated-event.

I wrote this post to answer some of the questions that people may have

Q:Is there any registration fee?

A:No, it is completely free to join! There is no hidden cost.

Q:Why is there no prize?

A:This is a non-competitive festival.

Q:Why backdooring is allowed?

A:DotA has an anti-backdoor system which gives tower crazy regen when you try to backdoor.

Q:I cannot form a team of 5!

A:You can register as a solo participant at our registration page. We will help you form a team of 5.

Q:I am a beginner!

A:Every dota player is invited. As long you enjoy DotA, you should join this festival.

Q:It is before O Level Higher Chinese!

A:It should end before end of Oct so there is enough time for you to revise Chinese.

If you have any queries, you can post it at our ShoutBox, we will answer as fast as possible.
